ANKARA - European Commissioner for Enlargement Olli Rehn called Turkish State Minister and chief negotiator for EU talks Ali Babacan yesterday night.
Sources told the A.A correspondent that Rehn informed Babacan on the decision that was made on Monday in the EU General Affairs Council.
EU countries agreed to suspend 8 in regard to the Customs Union of the 35 chapters of Turkey`s EU entry talks within the scope of the European Commission`s proposal (on October 29th). Until requirements of the additional protocol are fulfilled, other chapters will not be closed.
On the other hand, EU leaders also agreed that Turkey should continue its EU accession process.
