ANKARA - Political relations intensify with Iraq. A 30-people delegation, led by Iraqi Interior Minister Nuri Badran, came to Turkey on Sunday.
The delegation, which is also comprised of U.S. officials assigned in Iraq, visited State Minister Kursad Tuzmen on Monday morning.
Problems in commercial relations between the two countries were discussed and it was decided to have technical talks for solution of the problems. Members of the delegation also met with officials of Customs Undersecretariat for facilitation of procedures in Habur Border Gate.
Tuzmen pointed out Turkey's loses in trade with Iraq because of war, and stressed that Turkish companies wanted to apply for the tenders that would be made in Iraq.
Iraqi side conveyed the list of goods they wanted to purchase.
Iraqi interior minister is planned to meet with Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu today. Particularly, safety of Turkish lorry drivers and activities of members of terrorist organization in north of Iraq will also be discussed.
Iraqi delegation is expected to depart from Turkey today.
