ISTANBUL - Justice Minister Cemil Cicek left on Monday for the United States on an official visit.
Speaking to A.A correspondent at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport, Cicek said that he would have meetings in the United States for three days.
Cicek said that they would discuss terrorist incidents and relations between Turkey and the United States and stated that they would have meetings with U.S. Department of Justice Attorney General and officials from the Department of State and White House.
Cicek stated that he would also come together with representatives of some nongovermental organizations.
When asked whether or not bomb attacks in Istanbul would be brought onto the agenda during his visit to the United States, Cicek said, ''of course, it will be brought onto the agenda. The United States is also a country which has similar views on terrorism with Turkey. Thus, we will discuss this issue.''
Upon a question on Hasan Onal, who had been kidnapped by Taliban forces in Afghanistan and then was freed on Saturday, Cicek said that Onal would return to the country soon and stated, ''he is in the embassy building now. He is undergoing medical examination. Prime Minister and Foreign Minister have dealt with the issue closely.''
Cicek will return to the country on December 5.
