BRUSSELS - National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul came to Brussels on Sunday to represent Turkey in NATO defense ministers meeting.
The NATO Defense Ministers Council meetings will start on Monday and last for two days.
NATO which will discuss the methods of defense against threats of the 21st century will also take up the issue of fight against terrorism.
Defense ministers will also start preparations for Istanbul summit that will be held in June next year.
Issues such as Afghanistan, the Balkans, NATO-EU cooperation, and negotiations for taking Serbia among countries which make cooperation with NATO within the scope of Peace for Partnership are on the agenda of defense ministers.
NATO's regular meetings for the end of the year will continue with North Atlantic Council and European Atlantic Cooperation Council between 4-5 December. Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul will represent Turkey in the meetings.
