Eroglu: Election Will Be Between Those Who Claim State And Those Who Want To Sell State

LEFKOSA - Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said on Saturday evening that the election in TRNC would be held between those who claimed the state and those who wanted to sell the state.
''I don't want to see one Turkish Cypriot in our territories who will accept the Greek Cypriot domination,'' Eroglu said.
Addressing his National Unity Party (UBP), Eroglu said that they didn't expect any help from the messages of U.S. ambassador or EU Commissioner for enlargement Guenter Verheugen, adding ''we only trust our people.''
Eroglu said that the opposition was walking on the wrong path of giving the state to another state by showing the problems in the country as an excuse, adding that ''people of no country can call countries like the U.S., Britain and Greece to save them.''
Noting that Annan plan would be a disaster for Turkish Cypriots, Eroglu said that the plan would deprive thousands of TRNC citizens of their territories.
TRNC Prime Minister Eroglu said that peace in Cyprus could be installed by accepting the principle of two states in Cyprus, recalling that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan shared the same view.
Eroglu remarked that UBP also wanted EU membership and voiced this view for years, adding when they mentioned EU years ago, they were accused of being 'servants of imperialists' by the opposition.
