ANKARA - Agriculture and Rural Affairs Minister Sami Guclu will go to Italy on Sunday to attend the 32nd session of conference of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
Agriculture Ministry stated that Guclu would address general assembly in the conference to be held in Rome between November 29 and December 10.
Guclu will meet with FAO Director General Dr. Jacques Diouf and Agriculture Ministers of countries which are neighbours of Turkey.
Guclu said that heads of states and governments and agriculture ministers of 185 member countries of FAO would attend the meeting.
Guclu said that ''Review of the State of Food and Agriculture'', ''Progress Report on Implementation of the FAO Gender and Development Plan of Action'', ''United Nations/FAO World Food Programme'', ''Progress Report on Implementation of the International Plan of Action to Prevent, Deter and Eliminate Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing'', FAO Initiatives to Fight Hunger'' and ''Follow-up to the World Food Summit and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)'' would be taken up during the conference.
