MURDERER USED TO STAY IN ETILER
Mamdouh Mahmoud Saleem, the organizator of Al Quida attacks on U.S. representations in Africa stayed in Etiler district of Istanbul between 1996-1997. According to the intelligence reports, Saleem who was responsible for the finance and business relations of Osama Bin Ladin, came to Turkey from Sudan in 1996. Saleem lived with his wife and six children in Etiler. Saleem who was known as 'Mahmut Salim' in Turkey had told that he was working in a factory. Saleem was caught in Germany in 1998, he was extradited to the U.S. after three months and arrested there.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT: FOUR TERRORISTS DIED
Istanbul police issued an official statement yesterday regarding the bomb attacks that took place in Istanbul before the Ramadan holiday. Totally four lorries were used in the terrorist attacks, four terrorists who drove the lorries died in the explosion, 51 persons were detained and 18 others were arrested in connection with the attacks.

HABIB FROM MARDIN IS LAST BOMBER
When police found out that the person who exploded the bomb in Levent, Istanbul was Habib Aktas who was born in southeastern Mardin province, an investigation started in Mardin. The brother of Aktas was taken into custody for the DNA test and brought to Istanbul. The wife of Habib Aktas in Istanbul is also under custody.

TURKISH CYPRIOTS TRY TO GET GREEK CYPRIOT PASSPORTS
Totally 100,000 Turkish Cypriots applied to Greek Cypriot administration to get Greek Cypriot passports and identity cards. Among these persons who want to have the right to free movement after EU membership, 23,500 of them got identity cards, 8,253 of them got passports and 68,594 of them got birth certificates.

DGM ARRESTS 11 OTHER SUSPECTS
Istanbul Security Department made a statement regarding the attacks on November 15 and 20.
Istanbul Deputy Police Chief Halil Yilmaz said 51 people lost their lives and 712 others were injured in bomb attacks in Istanbul.
Yilmaz said 18 of the 51 detainees were sent to prison on charges of being members of an illegal organization and aiding and abetting those organizations. He said legal proceedings were underway against nine others.
Bomb attack on Neve Shalom Synagogue in Beyoglu district of Istanbul was staged by a white Isuzu pick-up truck having a license plate of 34 ZR 099, Yilmaz stated.
Yilmaz said that the attack on Beth Israel Synagogue in Sisli district was staged by a red Isuzu pick-up truck having a license plate of 34 UHK 68.
Both pick-up trucks were loaded with hand-made bombs prepared by ammonium nitrate, Yilmaz pointed out.
Yilmaz, briefing journalists on last week's attacks, stated that suicide bombers came to the spots simultaneously with a 1995 model white pick-up, having plate number 34 UVD 06 had come in front of HSBC Bank General Directorate building in Levent, Besiktas at around 10.55 local time on November 20, 2003, and the other with a 1995 model white pick-up, having plate number 34 VCV 25 had come in front of British Consulate General in Beyoglu. He said the two pick ups were loaded with hand made bombs with a mixture of ammonium nitrate. Yilmaz said the suicide bombers exploded the devices at the moment they came to the spot.

THE BIGGEST CONCESSION
Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said decision of UEFA to switch European Cup matches to neutral venues was something beyond sports, stating that, ''we hope that European countries and institutions are aware of what they are doing, otherwise the best concession would be given to terrorism.''
Gul said Turkey was not a country where terrorist attacks take place everyday, stressing that European countries had to support Turkey in fight against terrorism.

UEFA DID NOT STEP BACK
UEFA said its decision to switch the matches to ''neutral venues'' was final and did not step back from this decision. Football match between Galatasaray and Juventus of Italy will be played in Dortmund's Westfalen Stadium. Besiktas soccer team stated that they asked for additional time to determine a place for its match with Chelsea on November 9.

CIVILIAN NSC AFTER HOLIDAY
A compromise has been reached on the statute of National Security Council (NSC) Secretariat General. The government has prepared a bill to lift the ''secrecy principle.'' The new statute, which was adopted in NSC's meeting on Nov. 21, starts a new period for making civilian the administration. General Staff also supports the statute.

ANOTHER DECISION OF POSTPONEMENT
Council of Europe Committee of Ministers tries to find a way regarding the money which Turkey will pay to Ms. Loizidou in line with the decision of European Court of Human Rights. The Committee which couldn't make Turkey, Greek Cypriot side and Greece to reach compromise, postponed its decision for another week.

UEFA WINS
The warnings of Turkey which found unacceptable the decision of UEFA remained on paper. UEFA which asked the European matches of Galatasaray and Besiktas to be played on neutral venue by showing the terrorist attacks in Istanbul as an excuse, didn't change its decision although Italian football team Juventus stepped back.

GOOD NEWS
The policy of producing energy with coal mine came true in Iskenderun by making cooperation with Germany. The thermoelectric power plant was built by Turkish-German partnership to meet the increasing energy need of Turkey. The power plant will produce 10 billion kw of energy annually.

CICEK SAYS ISLAM WORLD SHOULD ASSUME A DEFINITE ATTITUDE AGAINST TERRORISM
Justice Minister Cemil Cicek said Islam countries should convene and make self criticism regarding terrorism. Cicek said, ''we can not isolate ourselves by putting the blame on foreign enemies.''
Pointing out that Muslims were began to be remembered in the world with terrorism, Cicek said Islam society was face to face with two big problems. He named them as ''terror violence'' and ''lack of democracy''.
Cicek said Islam countries should assume a definite attitude against terrorism.

BODIES OF BRITISH CONSUL GENERAL SHORT AND CONSULATE GENERAL EMPLOYEE HAVORTHIN SENT TO BRITAIN
Bodies of British Consul General in Istanbul Roger Short and consulate employee Lisa Havorthin, who lost their lives on November 20 bomb attacks on consulate building, were sent to Britain following a ceremony at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport on Thursday. Bodies of Short and Havorthin were taken from Surp Vartanas Armenian Church in Ferikoy district of Istanbul and taken to Ataturk Airport at 06.00 local time.
Following a religious ceremony at the Airport, the bodies were sent to Britain.
