Gul Summons Italian And British Ambassadors To Foreign Ministry Regarding Decision Of U.E.F.A.

ANKARA - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul summoned ambassadors of Italy and Britain to Turkey to Foreign Ministry to convey the uneasiness felt over decision of UEFA.
UEFA decided on Tuesday to switch matches of Galatasaray and Besiktas soccer teams of Turkey with Juventus of Italy and Chelsea of Besiktas from Turkey to neutral venues in the wake of last week's bomb attacks in Istanbul.
Gul met with Italian Ambassador in Ankara Vittorio Claudio Surdo on Wednesday morning. Gul conveyed the uneasiness felt over the UEFA decision and wanted Surdo to help to correct the decision.
Gul is expected to meet with British Ambassador in Ankara Peter Westmacott in the afternoon and convey the same messages.
