ANKARA - The current (accounts) deficit was up 76.3 percent in October 2006 when compared with October 2005, and reached 1.5 billion USD, the Central Bank of Turkey announced today.
According to figures of the Central Bank, the current (accounts) deficit was 896 million USD in October 2005.
On the other hand, the current (accounts) deficit in January-October 2006 was 28.2 billion USD. According to the Central Bank, the deficit was up 67.1 percent in the first ten months of this year over the same period of the previous year.
The deficit was 16.7 billion USD in January-October 2005.
