GELIBOLU - A Maltese- flagged ship "St. Western", carrying iron and steel, ran aground off the Gelibolu coast in Marmara city of Canakkale, on Monday.
The ship was 96 meters in length and 3,019 gross tones in weight.
The tugboat "Coast Guard-9" and "Kurtarma-1" were sent to the area to rescue the cargo-ship, officials said.
