ANKARA - Turkey grew 5.7 percent in the first 9 months of 2006, Turkish Board of Statistics (TUIK) announced on Monday.
According to figures of TUIK, the growth rate in the 3rd quarter is 3 percent.
The growth rate in the first quarter of 2006 was 6.4 percent and 8.8 percent in the second quarter.
The overall growth rate was 7.6 percent last year.
TUIK also announced figures of Gross National Product (GNP) and Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
According to figures, the rise in GNP was 3 percent, while in GDP it was 3.4 percent in the 3rd quarter of this year, on fixed prices basis.
Turkey`s GNP was 117.7 billion USD in current prices in the 3rd quarter of the year while its GDP was 290.1 billion USD.
Turkey`s GNP was 360 billion USD, and its GDP was around 361.4 billion USD in 2005, according to official data.
