RHODES - Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said on Monday he hoped that the Mediterranean and the Aegean would soon become a "free trade zone."
"Joint efforts and cooperation in this regard will be in the benefit of both Turkey and Greece," Tuzmen said upon his arrival to Turkey coming from a Turkish fair opened on the Greek island of Rhodes, last weekend.
Over 200 Turkish businesspeople sought to establish commercial ties with their Greek counterparts during the two day event.
"Let`s set up a trade bridge between the Greek islands and Turkey`s Aegean coasts," Tuzmen told Pavlidis, his Greek counterpart, during a meeting of the two ministers on last Sunday.
"We are ready to do anything we can to boost trade between the (Greek) islands and Turkey`s Aegean coast," Tuzmen added.
