ANKARA - "I write to feel better and to allay my anger," Turkey`s first Nobel-winning novelist told a banquette at the Stockholm City Hall on late Sunday.
Orhan Pamuk, who received his Nobel Prize for literature from King Carl Gustaf XVI of Sweden earlier Sunday, made a brief speech after the dinner, explaining why he wrote:
"They ask me the reason I write. Each time I give a different answer. I write to feel better, I write to allay my anger," he said. "I still have that childish feeling of joy and happiness whenever I write."
