ANKARA - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul expressed on Monday belief that the ongoing joint fight against terrorism with the United States would be continued also from now on.
Replying to a question of A.A correspondent, Gul expressed pleasure with the decision that the U.S. House of Representatives took on November 21 in order to condemn the terrorist attacks in Istanbul and display solidarity.
Gul said, ''we attach importance to this decision since it displays international solidarity against terrorism, the main threat of our age. We have full belief that our ongoing fight against terrorism with our ally United States will continue also from now on.''
Pointing out that the resolution which gave messages of solidarity with Turkey was brought to the agenda of U.S. House of Representatives very speedily and adopted by 426 to 0 votes, Gul said that it was very rare situation.
Gul added, ''I would like to thank co-chairmen of Turkish Friendship Group and all members of the House of Representatives who helped preparation and adoption of this resolution.''
