ANKARA - Turkey is pleased with the United Nations Security Council's unanimously adopting resolution no: 1515 in the meeting, entitled ''situation in the Middle East including Palestinian issue'' which was held on November 19.
Releasing a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled on Saturday that the Council called on the parties to fulfil their obligations under the plan in cooperation with the Quartet including Russia, the United States, the European Union and the United Nations, and noted that the resolution reaffirmed the vision of a region where two states lived side by side safely and peacefully.
Foreign Ministry said in the statement that they believed that the resolution of the Security Council put forward strongly the will of international society toward peaceful solution to Israeli-Palestinian conflict and stressed that there was no other option than the one that sides should start dialogue as soon as possible for solution to the conflict.
The statement said that on the other side they believed that if Palestinian administration's efforts to form the government yielded positive results, it would help improvement of peace process.
Stating that Turkey which defended settlement of a fair, lasting and comprehensive peace in the region was ready to exert efforts to put again peace process on the right track, it added that Turkey would continue to make contributions in the issue.
