RHODES - State Minister Kursad Tuzmen urged Aegean & Island Politics Minister Aristotalis Pavlidis of Greece to boost trade ties between the two countries saying this would significantly contribute to the improvement of Turkish-Greek relations.
"Let's set up a trade bridge between the Greek islands and Turkey's Aegean coasts," Tuzmen told Pavlidis during a meeting of the two ministers. "We are ready to do anything we can to boost trade between the (Greek) islands and Turkey's Aegean coasts," he said.
Pavlidis said in his part that he felt great pleasure in welcoming Turkish businessmen on Rhodes and seeing them talk with their Greek counterparts.
"The Greek government is committed to improve cooperation between the Greek islands and Turkey's Aegean coasts," he said. "I totally support Mr. Tuzmen's idea to improve relations between the islands and the Turkish coasts," he added.
