Terrorist Attacks Will Not Affect Turkish Tourism Sector

ANTALYA - Tour Operators' Association Secretary General Huseyin Baraner said on Sunday that they carried out a research among travel agencies in Germany after terrorist attacks in Istanbul and stated that according to the research, terrorist attacks would not affect Turkish tourism sector.
Baraner told the A.A correspondent that Tour Operators' Association had meetings with leading 82 travel agencies in Germany and stated that it was expected that Turkish tourism sector would not have any risk in 2004 due to Istanbul bombings.
Baraner stated that there would not be any decrease in the number of reservations which would be made in hotels in Turkey, adding that the number of reservations would increase as of January 2004.
Noting that the number of tourists who would come to Turkey to spend their holidays would increase by 10 percent in 2004 when compared to the last year, he said that sales would start in January 2004, thus terrorist incidents would not affect Turkish tourism sector.
