ERMENEK - Search and rescue efforts have been under way in Ermenek town of central province of Karaman to find seven miners, who were trapped when a methane gas explosion rocked a coal mine.
Karaman Governor Ismet Metin said on Saturday that a 64-member search and rescue team had been maintaining its efforts in the mine.
He added that high levels of carbon monoxide were hampering the efforts.
Late on Sunday, ten miners were trapped when a methane gas explosion rocked the coal mine in Ermenek town. Search and rescue teams have rushed to the area and pulled out the bodies of three miners killed in the explosion, which occurred 350 meters deep in the mine.
