Though no official statement was issued from the Italian government, the Italian news agency ANSA quoted Prime Ministry sources as saying that it is a signal towards a resolution, and that it needs to be confirmed but nevertheless it's a good sign.
Meanwhile, Turkish proposal was expected to be a possible topic at the meeting that is taking place in Milan between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi.
