LEFKOSA - "We do not expect Turkey to take any steps to open its ports and airports to Greek Cypriots before steps are taken to end isolation of TRNC," said Hasan Ercakica, spokesman of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Presidential Office.
On Turkey's proposal to the EU in which it said that it opens an airport and a port to Greek Cypriots in case Turkish Cypriot Ercan Airport is opened to international traffic and Magusa port to direct trade, Ercakica noted, "we have agreed with Turkey in principle on how we will react to developments."
"Turkey may lay down proposals according to recent developments. However, we do not expect Turkey to take any steps to open its ports and airports to Greek Cypriots before steps are taken to end isolation of TRNC," he added.
