No Change In Timetable Of Nato Summit To Be Held In Istanbul

BRUSSELS - NATO officials said that terrorist actions in Istanbul would not affect NATO summit which would be held in this city on June 28-29, 2004.
Officials said that the issue was brought onto the agenda in the meeting of NATO Council which was held on Thursday and stated that NATO Secretary General and representatives of member countries said that it was out of question to change place and date of NATO summit.
The last of NATO summits that are held biannually was held in Prague, the Czech Republic.
Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia will also join the Alliance as members of NATO in the summit which will be held in Istanbul.
It is expected that NATO-EU relations, terrorism and Iraq will be on the agenda of NATO summit in Istanbul.
