Commemoration Ceremony Held In Washington Synagogue For Victims Of Attacks In Istanbul

WASHINGTON D.C. - A commemoration ceremony was held in Washington D.C. on Friday for the victims who died in terrorist attacks in Istanbul last Saturday and on Thursday. In the ceremony, solidarity among Turkey, Israel, Britain and the U.S was shown.
British Consul General to the U.S. Warren Townend, Undersecretary of the Turkish Embassy Naci Sarıbas and Israeli Consul to the U.S. Moshe Fox attended the ceremony which took place in Adas Israel synagogue.
Naci Sarıbas said that terrorists turned Istanbul into a ''battle field' since Saturday, adding that the Turkish government strongly condemned those attacks.
Sarıbas said that nothing could justify those terrorist attacks, adding that a crime against humanity was committed. Noting that all countries had to unite against terrorism, Sarıbas said that the attacks also targeted the internal harmony in Turkey.
Moshe Fox said that all Jews in the world were perceived as ''legitimate target'' by the terrorists, adding that the bomb attacks in Istanbul were very similar to the ones launched by Al Qaida.
A donation campaign was also organized during the ceremony to help the families of victims who died in the blasts in Istanbul.
