ANKARA - Turkey-European Union (EU) Joint Parliamentary Commission (JPC) will hold its 51st meeting in Brussels between December 2 and 3.
The meeting will be chaired by co-chairmen Aydin Dumanoglu and Joost Lagendijk.
Recent developments in Turkey-EU relations and new cooperation opportunities will be taken up in the meeting.
Dumanoglu issued a statement on Friday that Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul was also expected to join the meeting.
In his statement, Dumanoglu said that they would express Turkey's views on the 2003 progress report during the meeting.
Dumanoglu noted that they would voice Turkey's expectations about financial cooperation and stress the need that financial packages which were hampered so far should be compensated in following days.
Communication strategy developed in order to inform Turkish and European public opinions would be examined in the meeting, Dumanoglu stated.
Dumanoglu said that implementation of reforms would also be discussed in the meeting.
''We will exchange views about the process of writing of the final text of the EU constitution draft ad possible results of intergovernmental conference. We will also exchange views about defense and security and fight against terrorism. We will touch on regional issues as well as Cyprus issue. We will evaluate the report prepared by Turkish side about developments recorded so far in issues pointed in the document issued in last meeting as the Declaration of Co-chairmen,'' Dumanoglu added.
