Denktas Condemns Attacks In Istanbul: Those Who Did That Have Nothing To Do With Islam And God

LEFKOSA - TRNC President Rauf Denktas condemned on Friday the bomb attacks that took place in Istanbul, adding that ''those who did that have nothing to do with Islam and God.''
Issuing a statement about the attack, Denktas said that the bomb attack was a murder against humanity, adding ''they stain Islam, this beautiful religion of peace and love by their acts and give the opportunity to Christian world to regard Islam as a terrorist organization.''
When a journalist said that the first bomb attack in Istanbul took place on November 15, which was the foundation day of TRNC, Denktas said that ''I think this is only by chance, there is nothing in our hands to correlate the two incidents.''
Denktas said that the attacks were connected to Iraqi issue, adding that ''they will act hostile against Britons, and they do this in an innocent country. If they have something to do with Britain, they must resort to diplomatic ways, killing people should not be the way. The things done have nothing to do with Islam.''
''All issue is to demoralize Turkey, to collapse its economy, its will, and to end the trust of the world in Turkey. Turkey is a powerful country, it has overcome terrorism in the past and it will also do this time. We are sure of that,'' Denktas said.
