U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary Pascoe In Foreign Ministry

ANKARA - U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Lynn Pascoe had contacts in Foreign Ministry on Friday.
Speaking after the contacts, Pascoe expressed condolences for the attacks in Istanbul, adding that Turkey and the U.S., as two allies went through a difficult time and they were in solidarity.
Pascoe said that bilateral relations, Turkey's EU membership process, and the NATO summit that would be held in Istanbul in June next year were taken up during the meetings, adding that they took very seriously the fight with the terrorist organization PKK/KADEK in Iraq.
Pascoe said that the U.S., Turkey, the groups in Iraq and the Iraqi Governing Council were aware of the importance of the fight with the terrorist organization PKK/KADEK. He added that yet this issue clearly fell within the responsibility of the U.S. as the country which had military presence in the region.
