ISTANBUL - HSBC Bank Turkey Deputy Directress General Demet Cimilli said on Friday that terrorist attacks similar to Thursday's attacks in Istanbul could occur in every country, adding, ''we still have confidence in Turkey. We are still optimistic.''
Cimilli told A.A correspondent that they had a bad day yesterday.
There was no panic in the building during the blast, Cimilli said.
Cimilli said, ''because, we are prepared for evacuation of the building in case of an emergency.''
Activities of the Directorate General of HSBC Bank Turkey continued in other buildings, Cimilli stated.
Cimilli said that not all but enough personnel were called to work today to continue transactions and activities.
All bank branches were operational at the moment, Cimilli pointed out.
Cimilli said that they would continue their path even if there were some interruptions.
''Yesterday, there were rumors that we would withdraw from Turkey. These are all baseless. We will continue our activities in Turkey. We still have confidence in Turkey. This is a terrorist attack and it may happen anywhere in the world,'' Cimilli added.
Asked if they had earlier been threatened, Cimilli said, ''no, there were not any threats.''
