Erdoğan pointed to a string of high-profile international summits hosted by Türkiye in November as evidence of the country's improved standing abroad. He highlighted the Alliance of Civilizations initiative, co-led with Spain, as one example of Türkiye's growing role in promoting dialogue and tolerance globally, saying each such event strengthens the country's reputation and economy.
The prime minister also addressed natural disasters, noting that Türkiye's geography makes it vulnerable to such events and that citizens must prepare accordingly. Floods struck southern and southeastern regions of the country during November, and the government responded by sending officials to affected areas and mobilizing state resources.
To aid recovery, the Housing Development Administration of Türkiye will construct approximately 2,500 homes in flood-affected zones as quickly as possible. The government will also cover six months of rent for displaced residents while reconstruction proceeds.
