Ankara Proposes Extending Support In Many Fields To Iraqi Interim Governing Council

ANKARA - Ankara which conveyed the message that it wanted to extend every kind of support in the future of Iraq to Iraqi Interim Governing Council said that Turkey would look at the future, not to the past.
Sources said that Turkish-Iraqi relations and cooperation opportunities for the future were discussed during Iraqi Governing Council Current President Jalal Talabani's meeting in the Foreign Ministry.
Turkish and Iraqi officials expressed their view that good relations should be established between the two countries in the meeting. Ankara gave the signal that they would look at the future, not to the past.
Talabani informed Ankara on the United States' plan on transfer of sovereignty and requested aid on the issue from Ankara.
Ankara told the delegation of Iraqi Interim Governing Council that Turkey was ready for every kind of aid. Ankara proposed to extend academic support on preparation of new constitution.
Turkey also said that it could extend aid for organization of meetings and conferences and in education field as well.
