ANKARA - The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) hosted a dinner in honor of Iraqi Governing Council Current President Jalal Talabani and accompanying delegation on Thursday.
TOBB deputy chairman Faik Yavuz said that they condemned harshly blasts in Istanbul and stated that they were determined to fight against terrorism.
Stating that Turkish business world was making very important contributions to meet humanitarian aid of Iraqi people, Yavuz said that they were planning to organize a tour to Iraq. He added that they wanted to come together with Iraqi Interim Governing Council and Iraqi businessmen there.
Talabani expressed his condolences to relatives of people who died in blasts in Istanbul.
Stating that those attacks were big crimes against humanity, Talabani said that there was need for international cooperation to prevent terrorism.
Stressing that they were working for cooperation in political, economic, commercial, cultural, security and other fields with Turkey, he said that they attributed great importance to Turkey.
Talabani said that there was security problem in a definite region in Iraq and stated that safe regions were formed in many places. He added that Turkish businessmen could make business freely in those regions.
Talabani said that they would ease purchase of goods and commerce by cooperating with Turkey in Iraq and added that they wanted economic, commercial and political relations with Turkey to be further improved.
