ANKARA - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Thursday that no one should feel herself/himself safe and added that anybody could be hit by terrorism anywhere. Gul called for all countries to fight against terrorism.
Gul returned from Sweden to Turkey and spoke to reporters at Ankara's Esenboga Airport.
Stating that many foreign ministers called him and expressed their sorrow over attacks, Gul quoted those foreign ministers as saying that they were ready to extend support.
Gul said, ''Turkey will continue to walk on its path. It will exert efforts for world peace in the country and the region.''
Stating that everyone should know that people could not reach anywhere through terrorism, he said that people who were behind those attacks would be found and revealed in the coming days and they would be brought in front of Turkish justice.
Confirming that British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw would come to Turkey this evening, Gul said that he would proceed to Istanbul on Friday morning.
When a reporter said Turkey was not involved actively in coalition in Iraq and asked why it was subjected to those attacks, Gul said, ''its analysis will be made. Turkey has been serving for peace. It is impossible to connect it with Iraq. Targets are obvious, but we accept that those attacks were staged against Turkey. Places which were attacked are on Turkish territories. Thus, we consider that attacks were staged against Turkey.''
Stating that Turkey's cooperation with other countries was obvious, Gul said that all countries should be in cooperation against terrorism.
