BRUSSELS - EU Commission President Romano Prodi sent a letter to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemning the terrorist attack in Istanbul and expressing condolences.
In his letter, Prodi said that he was in shock due to the bombs which exploded in Istanbul, conveying his condolences to the Turkish government and families of terrorism victims on behalf of EU Commission.
Noting that EU condemned all sorts of terrorism, Prodi said that he hoped the terrorists who staged the attacks to be caught as soon as possible.
Prodi referred to the importance of common fight against terrorism in the international field, adding that EU Commission would continue its full support to the Turkish government in its democratic reform efforts.
