Gul: This Time Target Was British Interests

STOCKHOLM - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Thursday that the target of the blasts in Istanbul was British interests, adding that Turkey would continue its fight against terrorism.
Speaking to reporters in front of Swedish parliament, Gul said that ''we are face to face with a terrorist attack. Unfortunately, many innocent people died, but we will continue our fight against terrorism.''
When asked who could have launched the attacks, Gul said that ''the target was British interests this time. Last time two synagogues were attacked. It is early to say something now. I invite other countries to make cooperation against terrorism.''
Meanwhile, Gul had a phone talk with British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw who called him. Gul said that Iranian and Irish foreign ministers also called him, but they couldn't talk.
Gul who continues his contacts in Stockholm, met with Swedish Industry and Trade Minister Leif Pagrotsky.
