H.S.B.C. Bank Which Is Sight Of Blasts In Istanbul Is A British Bank

ISTANBUL - HSBC Bank, which is the sight of Thursday's blasts in Istanbul, is a British Bank.
Also, the British Consulate General in Istanbul was the sight of today's explosions.
HSBC Bank is operating as a bank with British capital.
HSBC Group, centered in London, is serving in individual, commercial, institutional and investment banking and insurance in Asia-Pacific, Europe, North and South America, Middle East and Africa.
HSBC, the only British bank in Turkey, was formed as Midland Bank Corp. in Istanbul in 1990. Midland Bank, a bank with 100 percent foreign capital, changed its name as HSBC Bank Corp. in 1999.
The assets of the bank was around 3 quadrillion Turkish liras as of June 2003. HSBC Bank is serving Turkey with 159 branches and 3,421 personnel.
Around one thousand people are working in HSBC Headquarters which was a sight of one of today's blasts.
Personnel of the headquarters were evacuated after the explosion.
