Cooperative Associate A1-2 Exercise Starts In Sofia

SOFIA - ''Cooperative Associate A1-2'' exercise, in which military personnel of 18 countries that are NATO member or take part in Partnership for Peace project, started on Wednesday in Sofia.
The exercise, in which 15 military officials from Turkish Armed Forces are attending, is fulfilled on computers. The exercise, which will continue until November 26, aims at adjustment of military officials of countries that participate in Partnership for Peace project to NATO standards.
The scenario of the exercise is prepared by Admiral Gregory G. Johnson, Commander-in-Chief Allied Forces Southern Europe (Cinc AFSOUTH). The scenario includes various operations of a multinational peace force to restore peace, stability and security in a country where an inner chaos is experienced.
Austria, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Spain, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, the United States, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Ukraine, Hungary, the Netherlands and Uzbekistan are also participating in the exercise.
