CEYLANPINAR - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday made public the measures taken for the quake hit reqion.
Addressing the residents of Ceylanpinar town of southeastern city of Sanliurfa, Erdogan said, "the state will never leave you alone."
Erdogan said Housing Development Administration of Turkey (TOKI) would construct 100 houses for the victims of the flood. There will also be social facilities including a primary school.
Giving information about the measures taken for the region, Erdogan said, "we will construct houses in Ceylanpinar, Batman, Diyarbakir and Sirnak. We hope to complete the construction of the houses in 8 months."
"Another measure is postponement of the debts of farmers to Ziraat Bankasi, agricultural cooperative, and Agriculture & Rural Affairs Ministry for one year. Directorate General of Agricultural Enterprise (TIGEM) will distribute 21,300 tons of wheat seed and 3,700 small cattle to meet the needs of farmers in flood hit region," he said.
Erdogan said Ministry of Public Works & Housing will work in cooperation with local administrations to asphalt the main roads.
