ISTANBUL - Thirty-three people were injured in the chain traffic accident on the TEM Highway, which connects capital Ankara to northwestern city of Edirne via Istanbul on Friday.
Sources said that 104 vehicles including lorries, trucks, passenger buses and automobiles were involved in the accident which occurred due to heavy fog on the Istanbul-Edirne part of the highway.
Thirty-three people who were injured in the accident were rushed to nearby hospitals. Two of them are in life threatening condition.
Meanwhile, efforts are under way to re-open the highway to traffic.
