ANKARA - A civil court in Ankara dismissed Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan`s lawsuit against caricaturist Musa Kart and Turkish newspaper Cumhuriyet for portraying him as a "cat".
The court dismissed the case, in line with Supreme Court of Appeals` final decision to overrule the judgement that previously found Kart guilty of publicly humiliating Erdogan and that fined him 5000 YTL (3.45 thousand USD).
Erdogan`s lawyer Muammer Cemaloglu demanded the court to insist on its previous decision of fining 5 thousand YTL while Kart`s lawyer demanded dismissal of the case.
Court decided to dismiss the case in line with Supreme Court of Appeals` decision.
Turkish newspaper Cumhuriyet had published a cartoon portraying PM Erdogan as a cat entangled in a ball of wool and PM had opened a lawsuit against the paper and Musa Kart.
