ISTANBUL - Church of England Canterbury Archbishop Rowan Williams has said that Saturday's dual bomb attacks on two synagogues would not constitute an obstacle in Turkey's development, adding that Turkey would continue progressing in its European Union (EU) process.
Williams paid visits to Greek-Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew and Istanbul Governor Muammer Guler.
Expressing his profound sorrow over loss of lives in synagogue bombings, Williams said that Istanbul was known as the city of inter-religious tolerance.
Describing the events as shocking developments, Williams said that they had been praying to the God to prevent such attacks from occurring again.
He stressed that Saturday's synagogue bombings would not constitute an obstacle in Turkey's development, adding that Turkey would continue progressing in its EU process.
