ANKARA - Talks to solve disagreement on Blue Stream Project between Pipeline Transportation Corp. (BOTAS) and Russian gas company Gazprom and Gaz Export continue.
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Tuesday that a delegation from Gazprom came to the BOTAS on Tuesday and stated that technical talks started. If talks yield positive results, a statement will be made in the evening.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler earlier said that talks were about to be completed and stated that a result would be reached soon.
Purchase of natural gas from Russia under the Blue Stream continued till March 12, 2003. BOTAS stopped purchasing natural gas and then it restarted to purchase it on August 1, 2003.
The disagreement results from the formula of setting price in agreements on Blue Stream project.
Gazprom company stated that formula had been the same in all other agreements, but it was only different in this agreement. It claimed that it was a mistake in writing and it should be the same with the others.
Later, arbitration process suspended and BOTAS and Gazprom reached consensus that the disagreement should be solved through talks.
