Gul: A Terrorist Action In A Single Part Of The World Is In Fact An Action Directed To Whole Humanity

ANKARA - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Tuesday that a terrorist action in a single part of the world was in fact an action directed to whole humanity and added that it was necessary to fight against terrorism as a single front.
Making a speech in a seminar held at Bilkent University in Ankara, Gul recalled the terrorist attacks in Istanbul and said that those attacks caused many people to die and hundreds of them to be injured.
Noting that a terrorist action in a single part of the world was in fact an action directed to whole humanity, Gul said that they harshly condemned those attacks.
Gul said that it was necessary to fight against terrorism as a single front to erase terrorism from the world.
Gul said that the United Nations and Security Council were the most important actors in a period when restoring an international stability was in difficulty. He added that developments in Iraq should be taken into consideration within this scope and U.N. should have a broader participation in this region.
President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent messages to the seminar.
