HERE ARE THAT FOUR NAMES
Mesut Cubuk, (23) drove the suicide truck that came to Beth Israel Synagogue in Sisli district and Gokhan Elaltuntas (22) drove the other truck that brought bloodshed to Neve Shalom synagogue. Both of the young men were born in eastern Bingol province. Police found out important clues regarding the bomb attacks on two synagogues within 60 hours. Two other persons namely Azed Ekinci and Feridun Ugurlu helped the first two men in their bloody attack. All four names have connection with terrorist organization Al Qaida.

TURKEY IN EU MAP
During the Social Democrat Party (SPD) Bochum congress in Germany, the message of ''Turkey is European' has been given. Referring to EU membership of Turkey, a slogan was put on the Turkey map in the giant screen saying that ''doing the important thing.'' Gerhard Schroeder, the German Chancellor and the leader of SPD extended open support to Turkey in Bochum congress of his party. Vural Oger, a famous businessman and Ozan Ceyhun, who are of Turkish origin put their candidacy to become members of the European Parliament from SPD.

ERDOGAN: TAKE STEPS BEYOND COURTESY
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that countries sent condolence messages for courtesy after the attacks against two synagogues in Istanbul. He added that there were steps to be taken beyond courtesy and it was necessary to develop joint struggle platform in the general of the world with more sensitivity.

MAHMUR CAMP TO BE EVACUATED
Turkey and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) reached a consensus on returning of Turkish citizens to Turkey who had been in Mahmur Camp in the north of Iraq. Turkish citizens, who had proceeded to Iraq in 1993 due to clashes in the Southeast, had stayed in Atrus Camp until 1998 and then were transferred to Mahmur Camp. Turkey, which defended that the camp was under the control of PKK/KADEK, could not become successful in the evacuation of the camp. Ankara laid the condition of evacuation of the camp to break the effectiveness of the organization during the meetings between Turkey and the United States for the eradication of PKK/KADEK from the north of Iraq following the change in the regime in Iraq. When the United States approached positively to this condition, Kamel Morjane, the Assistant Secretary General of the UNHCR, met with the officials in Ankara.

WARNING TO NEIGHBORS
Council of Ministers evaluated the attacks in Istanbul during its meeting that lasted 4.5 hours. Justice Minister and Government Spokesman Cemil Cicek said after the meeting that Turkey was a country which was left alone in fight against terrorism. He added that some countries, who sent messages of condolences to Turkey after the attacks, should make soul searching and this would be more meaningful than sending messages of condolences, noting that fight against terrorism would be more influential.

FOREST LAW CARRIED TO COURT
President Ahmet Necdet Sezer had to ratify the law on amendment to Forest Law which he had earlier vetoed but was returned to Presidential Palace from Parliament. However, Sezer decided to file a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court for annulment of the first and 13th articles of the law.

POLICE IDENTIFY TERRORISTS
Police announced that Azad Ekinci launched the suicide attack on Neve Shalom synagogue, while Mesut Cubuk staged the other attack on Beth Israel synagogue in Istanbul last Saturday. Suicide bombers had connection with terrorist organization Al-Qaida and they got military training in Iran. Ekinci was member of the fundamentalist terrorist organization IBDA-C, and Cubuk was member of the Islamic Movement Organization. Totally 20 persons were taken into custody in operations launched in Bingol, Agrı and Batman provinces. Police try to find five more persons.

CYPRUS DIPLOMATIC TRAFFIC SPEEDS UP
While there is only one month left to the elections in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), the diplomatic traffic for finding a permanent solution on the island has speeded up. U.S. special coordinator to Cyprus Weston said that he had concerns about the elector registrations in TRNC. Turkey on the other hand warned U.S. once again saying no interference should be made in the TRNC elections.

DID QAIDA TAKE REVENGE WITH BOMB ATTACKS?
According to the statement of Senkal Atasagun, the Undersecretary of National Intelligence Organization (MIT), Al Qaida militants who were caught in Turkey were extradited to countries where they were wanted. In a meeting with reporters recently, Atasagun had said that every month 7-8 Al-Qaida militants were caught in Turkey and extradited. ''We don't issue statements in order not to make Turkey a target,'' he had said. This situation brought to mind the question of whether the terrorist organization wanted to take revenge.

GOVERNMENT IS ANGRY:THEY LEFT US ALONE
Justice Minister Cemil Cicek said that some countries which sent messages of condolences to Turkey following the bomb attacks on two synagogues of Istanbul, extended support to assailants which killed people in Turkey. Referring to Western European countries, Cicek said that ''they shed crocodile tears.'' After the council of ministers meeting in Istanbul, Justice Minister Cicek scolded Europe saying ''those who left Turkey in its fight with terrorism, now shed crocodile tears, organizations collect donations in countries which sent messages of condolences to us. They call 'freedom fighters' to those whom we call 'terrorist.''

PRESIDENTIAL PALACE APPROVES FOREST LAW

TALABANI: I WILL COME TO CONVINCE TSK
Iraqi Governing Council and Iraqi Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) leader Jalal Talabani said that he was ready for cooperation with Turkey, but they would not permit Ankara to intervene in the process of forming a state in Iraq. He said that he aimed to remove the doubts of Turkish army during his Ankara visit. He added that they did not want to form a Kurdish state, noting that they wanted a federation in Iraq.

WESTON IN ANKARA
U.S. State Department's Special Coordinator for Cyprus Thomas Weston repeated his belief in Annan Plan. He said prior to his meeting with Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Ugur Ziyal that they attributed importance to a just election in Turkish Cypriot side on December 14. Diplomatic sources said that during meetings this issue was not discussed and they added that may be Weston wanted to give message through press.

TURKISH BUSINESSMEN IN KABUL CONVENE
Turkish businessmen in Kabul, Afghanistan held a meeting. The officials of the Turkish firms, which contributed to reconstruction of Afghanistan with their offices and equipment in Kabul, decided to convene under a single roof.
