Washington - US economist Milton Friedman, a leading advocate for laissez faire economics, has died at age 94, a spokesman for his private foundation in Indianapolis said Thursday.
Robert Fanger, communications director for the Milton & Rose D Friedman Foundation, said in a telephone interview that Friedman died Thursday of heart failure in San Francisco.
Milton Friedman is the twentieth century's most prominent economist who advocated for free markets, according to the online Concise Encyclopaedia of Economics.
