ISTANBUL - Seventy buildings were damaged in Saturday's explosion in front of Neve Shalom Synagogue in Beyoglu district of Istanbul.
Officials of Public Works Provincial Directorate, Istanbul Municipality and Beyoglu Municipality assessed damage around 70 buildings on Buyuk Hendek Street where the synagogue was situated.
The group said that eight buildings, including Neve Shalom Synagogue were seriously damaged and 16 others suffered moderate damages.
Beyoglu Municipality demolished balconies and eaves causing danger while cables were laid to illuminate the street at night.
Potable water problems on the street were overcome while telephone and electricity problems will start to be solved tomorrow.
