Sisli Mayor Sarigul Says Cost Of Damages In Beth Israel Synagogue Will Be Met By Municipality

ISTANBUL - Sisli Mayor Mustafa Sarigul said on Monday that cost of damages in Beth Israel Synagogue caused by Saturday's bomb attack would be met by Sisli Municipality.
Sarigul told a press conference that 60 buildings and workplaces were damaged in the explosion that occurred on Nakiye Elgun Street where Beth Israel Synagogue was situated.
Twenty-two of the buildings were seriously damaged in the blast, Sarigul said.
Sarigul noted, ''this bomb attack is an attack made against peace of world people and spiritual personality of Turkish Republic. We should not be affected by these intrigues. We should be stronger against terrorism. A commission was formed by the Interior Ministry to assess the damage.''
''Cost of damages in the synagogue will be met by our municipality. The synagogue will be ready for prayer as soon as possible,'' Sarigul said.
Sarigul added that life on the street could normalize on Monday evening.
