ISTANBUL - Istanbul Governor Muammer Guler said on Monday they had important data regarding bomb attacks on two synagogues in Beyoglu and Sisli districts of Istanbul and stated that police detained recently some people who were suspected of carrying out bomb attacks.
Speaking to reporters, Guler said that every kind of assessment was carried out regarding bomb attacks and noted, ''we have received detailed news and archives. We have also cooperation with some international organizations. All of them will be assessed.''
Stating that police detained recently some people regarding the attacks, Guler said that any terrorist organization's claiming responsibility for those attacks was an assessment factor. Guler said that there should be evidences on the issue.
Asked whether it was definite that assailants were of Arab origin, Guler said that it was not definite yet.
Asked whether owners and drivers of trucks which were used in bomb attacks were determined, he said, ''it is not difficult to determine them. 48 hours passed. This is the first time that Turkey faced with such an action. We have important data. No one should have concern over the issue. Our police will solve it.''
