NEW YORK - Turkey's Consul General in New York Omer Onhon condemning bomb attacks on two synagogues in Istanbul said that those attacks would not deter Turkey and stated that terrorists could not reach their aim.
Bomb attacks on two synagogues in Istanbul was condemned with a meeting held by organization entitled, ''American Turkish-Jewish Community and Solidarity March with Turkish people'' in Park Avenue Synagogue in New York on Sunday.
Onhon, Chief Rabbi of New York Arthur Schneider, U.S. Representative to the United Nations John D. Negroponte and many people attended the meeting.
Onhon said that terrorists aimed at creating chaos and fear and stated that the target was to destroy peace in Turkey.
Stating that they condemned those attacks on two synagogues in Istanbul, Onhon called international society to fight against terrorism.
Underlining that Turkey would continue to fight against terrorism, Onhon thanked American Jewish community for its support.
Schneider said that they convened there to condemn terrorist action in Istanbul and stated that they would carry on their fight against such actions.
Negroponte said that terrorism targeted innocent people without making discrimination in religion and race and stated that the United States would always be beside Turkey in fight against terrorism.
