ANKARA - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the government received information that terrorist organization Al-Qaeda had claimed responsibility for bomb attacks on two synagogues in Istanbul.
Erdogan proceeded from Istanbul to Ankara late on Sunday and replied to questions of reporters.
Asked whether or not they received any information that Al-Qaeda had claimed responsibility for bomb attacks, he said, ''we received such an information. But our security teams, our intelligence services have to work to determine the extent of truth of the claims.''
Erdogan said that after they reached a concrete information on the issue, Interior Ministry would make a statement.
Asked whether or not police found any evidence, Erdogan said that they were working, adding he thought that State Security Court (DGM) prosecutor's office and security teams would prepare a report on the issue till Monday evening.
