Toulouse - British low-cost carrier easyjet has signed a contract to purchase an additional 52 Airbus A319 aircraft, Airbus announced Tuesday.
The purchase brings the number of A319 planes easyJet has ordered to 192, making the company one of Airbus's biggest customers worldwide.
In a press statement, Airbus said that the airline had also taken an option on another 75 A319s, taking the number of A319 options to 123.
The newly purchased planes are to be delivered between 2008 and 2010. As usual, no sum was provided for the value of the order.
