ISTANBUL - Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu said on Saturday that two explosions which had occurred in Istanbul were predicted to be caused by the same terrorist organization.
Following a meeting at Istanbul Police Department, Aksu told reporters that experts continued investigation at the spot of blasts.
Aksu said that according to preliminary reports, two explosions were predicted to be caused by the same terrorist organization.
They could learn the type of the bombs used in the attacks at the end of the investigation, Aksu noted.
Aksu said that 20 people died and 277 people were injured in the blasts.
Interior Minister Aksu pointed out that 192 of the injured were immediately treated and discharged from hospitals while 77 were still under medical treatment.
Aksu said that no organization had claimed responsibility for the attacks while explosives used in attacks of all terrorist organizations were being investigated.
''I hope we can get a result as soon as possible,'' Aksu stated.
Aksu went on saying, ''when I visited the spot of explosions, I guessed that those who staged the attack were 'live bombs.' I had said that these people might have staged the attack and the explosions could have occurred when they were in action. I had also said that drivers of vehicles could have died in the explosions. Footage of security cameras of synagogues are being investigated by Anti-Terror Directorate of Istanbul Police Department.''
Replying to a question, Aksu said that it would be wrong to pronounce a name of any organization at the moment.
Aksu replied in negative to the question if a technical team would come from Israel.
