Our national soccer team will play its first match with Latvia in the 2004 Euro Play-off in Riga tonight. The match will start at 8.15 p.m.

''I AM NOT GOING TO GREEK CYPRIOT SIDE''
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan denied the news that he planned to cross into Greek Cypriot side in case the Greek Cypriots showed interest in him during his visit to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Erdogan said, ''there is only one reason of my visit to Cyprus and it is to celebrate the anniversary of foundation of TRNC.''

TELECOM WARS
Giant companies of Turkey and the world will have a big competition during privatization of Turk Telekom. Telekom Executive Board Chairman Erkan Akdemir told Milliyet daily that there was an increase in internal and external demands to the tender. Besides Telecom Italia and Singapore Telecom, fund owned by George Saros, giant insurance company AIG and U.S. investment groups Advent and Apax are interested in the tender. There is Koc-Sabanci consortium among Turkish companies who want Turk Telekom. Oyak Group is also expected to take part in this competition.

''OPEN A PROFESSORSHIP. THIS WILL BE ENOUGH''
Mesrob Mutafian, the Patriarch of Turkish Armenians, said that they did not want a seminary like the Fener Patriarchate. Mutafian said, ''80 thousand Armenians are living in Turkey. There are 43 churches. We should give them religious service. We want a professorship named 'Local Cultures of Anatolia' to be opened in a university in Istanbul.''

ERDOGAN: NEWS REPORTS THAT I WILL GO TO GREEK CYPRIOT SIDE IS A LIE
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan denied the news report that he would pass the Green Line and go to Greek Cypriot side during his visit to Lefkosa where he would go to mark the 20th anniversary of the foundation of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Erdogan said nobody had the right to publish something which he did not say or thought.

DENKTAS: ANNAN MODEL IS LIKE CRETE MODEL
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Rauf Denktas resembled Annan Plan to Crete model.
Denktas, who wanted Crete model not to be forgotten, stated that, ''you know Turks in Crete had to leave there by selling their goods and properties for very cheap prices. This is the plan implemented on us. I don't have any suspicion on this. They will purify the island from Turks.

POLITICAL LANDING
Besides Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, politicians Deniz Baykal, Mehmet Agar and Dogu Perincek will attend the 20th anniversary of foundation of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Turkey will give messages of solidarity to TRNC in ceremonies which will be attended by many deputies and diplomats. Both of the sides on Cyprus are curious about the message to be given to Erdogan while Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said that there would not be any new initiative during Erdogan's visit to TRNC. Turkey and TRNC are working on a draft plan to be presented after the December 14 elections in TRNC. Foreign Ministry sources stated that efforts carried out separately would be united and said, ''in this work, we are making use of experiences in negotiations that have continued since 1975.''

''I AM READY TO INTERVENE''
United Nations (U.N.) Secretary General Kofi Annan said that he was ready to intervene in the Cyprus issue again in case the proposals he made to sides and guarantor states in Cyprus report on February 26, 2003 were taken as a base. Annan said that he was closely following developments in Cyprus and supported free passages between two sides. U.N. Security Council will start discussing Cyprus report in coming days.

''IMF WANTS FUTURE''
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the structure of state and emptying banks' coffers cost 56 quadrillion Turkish liras (TL) to the state. Erdogan said, ''then, we are standing in a queue for 1 billion U.S. dollars. IMF don't only give debt but rules your future.'' Noting that he did not mean severing relations with IMF with his words, Erdogan praised the economic course.

LATVIA EXAM
Turkish national football team will play in an away match in Latvia tonight to go to Portugal. The national team will try to gain an advantage in the first match with Latvia which will start at 8.15 p.m.

20TH ANNIVERSARY LANDING ON ISLAND
Politicians and bureaucrats, who went to Cyprus, gave the message that ''Turkey was beside Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).'' Celebrations to mark the 20th anniversary of foundation of TRNC started as TRNC President Rauf Denktas spoke on BRT television channel. Turkey is being represented by a large group including Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the celebrations which are being held in very critical days regarding Cyprus issue.

UNAKITAN SAYS HE WILL BE PURSUING THOSE WHO DON'T PAY TAXES
Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan called on tax payers to pay their taxes regularly and noted, ''we should change our system in a way that our people can pay their taxes even during holidays.''

IMF DEEPENS ITS EXAMINATIONS IN UNREGISTERED ECONOMY IN TURKEY
International Monetary Fund (IMF) is deepening its examinations for unregistered economy in Turkey.
IMF delegation, which is currently in Turkey to examine dimensions of unregistered economy in Turkey, completed its preliminary studies to a great extend.
Officials, who described IMF delegation as advance delegation, said IMF will send a high ranking delegation to Turkey in December, and launch a more comprehensive study in this respect.

WASHINGTON: CLASHES SHOWED TERRORIST CHARACTER OF PKK/KADEK AGAIN
Official statement of U.S. State Department made on Friday reiterated that PKK would not change its terrorist character by changing its name.
The statement said that terrorist organization PKK/KADEK which changed its name into Kurdistan People's Congress (KHK) could not save itself from being responsible of its terrorist activities by changing its name.
U.S. State Department spokesman Adam Ereli said that it was understood that the organization changed its name in order to escape from the responsibility of its terrorist activities.
